Sun. April 6 Science SundayFrom Trash to Treasure –When World War II ended, the U.S. Military disposed of tons of equipment, vehicles, and planes by dumping them into the sea. Guest speaker Kalle Palmer will share how these dumps sites are now highly valued as dive sites for their historical significance and natural features that developed around them. Sat. April 12 Reforestation SiteHelp clear protect the limestone forest by clearing weeds around newly planted native trees. The trees are habitat for endangered species and also help them find food. Volunteer to help weed, prune trees or bush cut. Gloves, tools and water will be provided. Registration not required. Email leanne.obra.1@us.af.mil for more information. Sun. April 13 Fun HikeExplore the history of Asan Ridge through a fun hike. Meet at the restrooms of the War in the Pacific National Park War in the Pacific National Park, Asan 2 p.m.

Thurs. April 17 Family Field TripFamilies are invited to come see trees that can only be found in Guam, and Hamamoto Fruit World. Biologist Joni Kerr will lead this hike through the unique limestone forest and point out trees and plants of interest. Registration is required for this field trip. Busing will be provided. Meeting place TBD 8:30 a.m.

Sat. April 19 Ready, Set, Be Safe in the waterDon’t miss this free water safety workshop open all ages. Groups and individuals who are interested in learning how to spot rip currents, swim and paddle safely, respond if there is an emergency in the water and more are encouraged to attend. The workshop will be led by NOAA weather experts and officials from the Guam Fire Department.

Sat. April 19 See the Amazing Freshwater SeepsDon’t miss this awesome tour led by Ramon Camacho, hydrologist with Naval Base Guam. He will show you the amazing freshwater seeps throughout Tumon Bay. Meet at the Ypao Beach Lifeguard tower 4 p.m.
Tues. April 22 One hour for One earthAll agencies, organizations, groups and families are encouraged to take 60 minutes to clean up something as part of Earth Day 2014. This is a great way to protect our environment! Cleanup a street in your village. Take time to clean an area of your office building. Use the hour to cleanup a flower bed and plant native plants. Fri. April 25 Movies in the ParkDon’t miss the free family movie with fun games and activities about the environment. Guam PDN will be showing Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Adelup 6:30 p.m.
Sat. April 26 Beach CleanupsJoin multiple agencies and organizations as they help clean up beaches all across the island. Tarague (Andersen AFB), Umatac to Toguan, Ypao to Agana, Dadi (Navy) 8 a.m.
