Guam EPA is still accepting comments for a permit application from Naval Facilities Engineering Command Marianas. The permit is for a Hazardous Waste Management Facility.

The permit and all related documents are available at Guam EPA’s main office on Mariner Ave. in Tiyan.

Public comments regarding this permit will be accepted until 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2013. Comments can be submitted to Guam EPA’s main office, Building 17-3304, Mariner Avenue, Tiyan or mailed to Post Office Box 22439 GMF, Barrigada, GU 96921. Comments cannot be faxed or emailed to Guam EPA.

The Guam Environmental Protection Agency (Guam EPA) wishes to notify the general public and other interested parties of the availability of the draft Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Permit for Naval Facilities Engineering Command Marianas, Guam Hazardous Waste Management Facility (HWMF). The Draft RCRA Subtitle C Permit and its conditions are proposed and open for public comment pursuant to Public Law 23-64, Section 51104 and Public Law 24-40, Section 4910(g).

The permit includes the following information:
APPLICANT: Naval Facilities Engineering Command Marianas
FACILITY: Hazardous waste packaging, repacking and transport and pre-transport activities including storage of waste generated and received from Department of Defense facilities in Guam.

Written comments on the draft permit must be received or postmarked no later than Jan. 20, 2013, to be considered by the Agency. No fax or emailed comments will be accepted. Written comments must be submitted either by hand delivery to Guam EPA’s Main Office or by mail to:
