Guam EPA responds to accident

18 January 2012

Early this morning Emergency Responders from the Guam Environmental Protection Agency responded to a vehicle accident on Marine Corps Drive in Anigua.

Two trucks were involved in the accident in front of the Governor’s Complex at Adelup. Guam EPA’s Hazardous Waste Program arrived on the scene and reported that diesel and oil were leaking from both trucks. One of the truck was a tanker. Their assessment noted that no fuel was leaking from the tank on the vehicle.

Absorbant pads were used to mitigate the diesel and oil leaking from the vehicles. No oil products entered the storm drain, according to the responders.

Guam EPA will return to the scene to determine what, if any, additional environmental assessments and cleanup must occur.
