Guam EPA’s offices will be closed Tuesday, April 22 as the staff participate in an all-day cleanup to celebrate Earth Day 2014.
Guam EPA recognizes the importance of eliminating, as best as possible, any impact that this monthly closure will have on its customers. Customers who need assistance can make an appointment for another day of the week by calling 300-4751.
“As part of Earth Day 2014, our staff will be pitching in to help clean up at Sella Bay. Not only is the area frequented by tourists but it is also culturally significant making it a important site to clean and maintain,” said Guam EPA Deputy Administrator Yvette Cruz. “Earth Day is an important day. It helps remind us that everyone can make changes to help sustain our planet. We can all come together to protect our earth, land and sea.”
Volunteers are welcome to assist with the cleanup effort. Water and gloves will be provided.
All agencies, organizations and businesses are asked to contribute one hour on Tuesday, April 22 to the environment. Activities can include doing a cleanup, a painting project, watching a documentary about the environment or taking recyclables to the proper location.
