Snorkeling event this weekend

The Guam Environmental Education Committee is hosting a free snorkeling event this weekend..

The EEC Ready, Ready, Set, Snorkel event is from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, at Merizo Pier in Merizo. The event is free and registration is not necessary. The event is open to all ages and abilities and includes a safety briefing, instruction on using snorkeling gear and gear to borrow if needed. Dive masters and biologists will be on hand to talk about water safety and the marine environment.

The Environmental Education Committee (EEC) includes government, nonprofit and educational organizations that are interested in promoting environmental education on the island of Guam. Members include Guam EPA, the Guam Department of Agriculture, NOAA, Sea Grant Guahan, University of Guam, Guam Community College, Bureau of Statistics and Plans Guam Coastal Management Program, Marine Mania, Sharks MADE, iRecycle, and others.
