Aggregate Importation Guidelines

Purpose and Regulatory Authority

Guam EPA offers guidance to help importers obtain environmental clearance for Sand, Quarried, or Mined Products from outside Guam’s geological region, as defined in 8 GAR Division 3, Chapter 13. This guidance covers only the Guam EPA’s authority. Acceptance does not relieve importers of the obligation to comply with other laws or of liability for the use and handling of materials.

Under 10 GCA Chapter 47, §47102, Guam EPA enforces these measures to protect Guam’s water and environment. Imported materials placed on the surface, in soil, or near water must be free of chemicals and hazards, biologically sterile before arrival, and transported properly.

Guam EPA currently imposes no fees for environmental clearance of aggregate importation.
